Literacy - worksheets
Literacy includes a range of skills including reading, writing, speaking and listening. A literate person will be able to communicate effectively with others and to understand written information. This can be either handwritten or in an electronic format.

Children around 3-5 years love to be read to as well as trying to participate in word recognition. Here are some recommendations which will encourage children to enjoy learning.
From the age of 5 children are beginning to need stimulating by books which they can enjoy reading themselves. It is important to fulfil this need by supplying them with a wide range of suitable books. We hope you find the following useful:

Punctuation
Punctuation comes naturally to some children but others need more explanation and practice. The understanding of punctuation is essential. This includes full stops, commas and capital letters on to more complex forms of punctuation. When to use an exclamation mark needs explaining to pupils so that it is always used correctly and not over used.
