Parents in Touch

Dear [NAME]
Although "school's out," it doesn't mean our young ones stop learning. There are opportunities on car journeys, at the seaside, and just being out of doors to learn about our world. We have some ideas below which will help you think about how to make learning a fun activity during the holidays.

Also, we are giving away over £250 worth of prizes - so don't miss out on your chances.

On a car journey it is useful to pass the time enjoying quizzes and challenging each other with word questions. The papers below will be useful both in the car and on the beach.
Children love the seaside so this is the time of the year to learn about 'Fish and sea creatures'.
Enjoy the paper on' Different types of houses' and learn about 'Types of writing'
Children in Foundation stage love to colour and this worksheet will help them to learn about shapes. Have fun together with the paper on shape to colour.
Spelling and  Phonics
Some children find spelling easy while others need more help, so the use of phonics is essential. Use the papers below to reinforce learning and allow children to enjoy reading and writing.
'Try jumping' is a fun and informative paper. Young ones are intrigued by magnets, so work through this paper together. We all need to know about the power of water, which is essential to us all.
I hope that the lesson plan on movement is useful to you. The poems of Walter de la Mare are a fascinating topic for your pupils.
Take a look at our super Giveaways for this month. First up - a super selection of frozen meals from Miniscoff, and then a blackout blind perfect for holiday travel. We have LOGO What Am I? and LOGO TV and Movies games for family fun. Younger readers will enjoy Where's the Starfish and Come to School Too, Blue Kangaroo. For older ones, there's a set of books from Random House and Ripley's Absolutely Absurd. Get ready for school with pens from Maped and 200 Tricky Spellings in Cartoons. Finally, a chance to get a personalised book and help to protect bees at the same time.
