Let us all hope that the sun shines and we can enjoy many happy days at the beach, outside and enjoying relaxation time together with family and friends. We have included in this month's newsletter some fun maths, crosswords and nature papers which can be enjoyed as a family.

KS1 English Some children find sentences easy to write but others need help and practice. Jack and the Beanstalk is a well known story so it is useful to use as a comprehension either orally or as a written exercise.

KS2 English  Children at this stage do need to extend their written vocabulary. The papers here will help with this and will encourage the use of imagination and concentration.

KS3 English Short writing tasks can be more difficult to compose and write than longer passages. It is essential to have a good grasp of summary skills as this will be needed in writing book reviews, short news items and letter writing.

KS1 maths Sums are fun so made sure that your children enjoy learning new techniques. The use of sweets, clown figures, and beads can give children visual clues and reinforce learning.

KS2 maths  Enjoy the Geometry crossword and Who is the winner papers. Children enjoy learning and papers like these will reinforce teaching  and help children remember rules.
worksheet KS3 maths It is more fun to work on these papers in a group. Maths is fun so enjoy this paper. 
worksheet Foundation Stage  Children all love rhymes so it is good to explore their meanings. The underground topic explores the lives of creatures who live underground and how they manage to do so.

Spelling Spelling is important and it is essential that children learn to spell well. They need to learn the names of all the animals around us and made sure that they are spelt correctly.

Phonics It is easier to read new passages if you use phonics. It is good and confidence building if you try and prepare your child for school with the papers below.

Science Trees are all around us but do we know their names? Enjoy the special bird paper and learn and experiment with sound. Science is fun.

Topics Code flags is an interesting paper and it might be useful to try and learn some of these.
Enjoy the crossword on people. We will all be interviewed at some time so read this paper carefully.
