Parents in Touch

Dear [NAME]
This is the time of the year to begin enjoying the sunshine...we hope! Time to practise for Sports Days and to enjoy cricket and rounders. We have a worksheet on 'Recording the Weather' and another for KS1 on 'Making things move'

Don't let your child miss out! Subscribe now and join the thousands of people who help their children by using Parents in Touch.

worksheet
Maths As a challenge it is always useful to practise some mental arithmetic and tables questions in the car... younger against older!
 worksheet
English It is important that children continue to enjoy books and stories through the summer. The worksheets below will help increase vocabulary, reinforce grammar and stimulate the imagination.
 worksheet
Foundation Stage Pupils at this stage of learning should be encouraged to enjoy colouring which helps improve their fine motor skills. They will increase their vocabulary through play and by listening and enjoying stories.
 worksheet
Spelling and  Phonics The use of Phonics will help pupils read more quickly. Look at the paper on 'Phonic sounds' to reinforce learning.  Learning spellings helps pupils write sentences and stories more easily and with confidence.
 worksheet
Science We take clean water for granted but many people are not so lucky. It is fun making things move so enjoy this paper. For some practical science try 'Recording the weather'.
 lesson plan
Teachers' pages The 'Information for parents and school' paper may be useful to parents with children who start school in September. I hope that the 'Lesson Planning on journeys' will be useful for school trips and outings.
Take a look at our super Giveaways for this month. We have lots of fiction to encourage reading - The Cat in the Hat, The Misadventures of Max Crumbly, Alice Through the Looking Glass, and The World of Norm: Includes Delivery. There are two new Mr Men adventures and Squirrel Me Timbers for younger readers. Egmont Readers are great for young learners and for crafters, there's Now I Can Sew. Last, but certainly not least, two superb jigsaws.
