MathsAs a challenge it is always useful to practise some mental arithmetic and tables questions in the car... younger against older!
Foundation Stage Pupils at this stage of learning should be encouraged to enjoy colouring which helps improve their fine motor skills. They will increase their vocabulary through play and by listening and enjoying stories.
Spelling and PhonicsThe use of Phonics will help pupils read more quickly. Look at the paper on 'Phonic sounds' to reinforce learning. Learning spellings helps pupils write sentences and stories more easily and with confidence.
Teachers' pages The 'Information for parents and school' paper may be useful to parents with children who start school in September. I hope that the 'Lesson Planning on journeys' will be useful for school trips and outings.
