KS1 SATS The papers on this page should be worked together with your child so that they are familiar with the layout and the timing processes of the papers. This can be done in a relaxed manner so that the children may feel confident and as relaxed as possible.
KS2 SATSAt this level children need a quiet comfortable environment to ensure that they are familar with all the processes needed to do their best in any test. A little practice does help every child.
KS1 maths It is always a good idea to do some practical work at home with your children. Cooking,art work,comics and cooking ae all learning curves which can be related to maths and English tasks needed in school.
PhonicsMany parents may not have learnt phonics at school so' How to teach phonics will help both you and your child. Tapes,computers, television and tapes can also be very useful and fun to establish a varied set of sound patterns.
KS2 English At this stage all children need encouragement and praise. It is easy to assume that chidren of this age are mature and confident.They enjoy new exoeriences, learning together and have success with adults.
Optional SATS papers These papers are used by schools to ensure that the children are reaching their individual targets in English and maths. They are very useful in ascertaining which secondary school may be best for your child.
KS3 maths Many students at this stage would like to feel that they are mature and do not need help at home. Make sure that your child has the opportunity to be able to ask for your help and enjoy spending time together.
Learning skills It is easy to assume that children do know how to take notes which they can understand a week later! Explosion charts, databases, dictionaries, Google and indexes need to be explained and make life simpler for students.
Art, craft and activities All children can improve their presentation skills through Art and Craft. They can see which colours work well together, which shapes are more dramatic and they learn to take more pride in their work.
Fun Pages These pages are for you all to enjoy as a family. It is good to take the time and have fun together. Hopefully we will get some sunshine and be able to get outside and prepare our gardens for the coming of Spring.
