Parents in Touch

We have more fantastic competitions - see below for details.
We have continued to add to our range of "How to...." pages (from the top menu select 'Help your child...at home with...'). Our users tell us that these are really useful in matching appropriate worksheets to the age/ability of your child.

We are constantly adding new resources to the site but we have space here for only a small selection. We hope that you find the Topical ideas, Maths, Science and other sections helpful but also have time to view all the other pages available. Now is the time to ensure that your child has a good start to the new school year by following up on work which is done in school. You will find spellings, topic and maths work to cover the whole curriculum on the Workheet Finder

You do not have to be a Subscriber to download from the site the Worksheets below which are annotated "Free Download".*

Science Want to know what your child will learn each year in science? Look at our progressive teaching pages.

Mental maths It is always useful to do one mental maths paper a week to keep your child's brain alert. We have a wide range of papers covering all the common question types.

Fractions Not as hard as they seem if you use our ideas. Fractions may be easier if done in a practical manner e.g divide a chocolate bar into 1/8 and eat that piece!

Foundation Stage The papers below are just a fraction of those available to give your child a good start at school, and show the range we have to offer.

Comprehension Many children need to have their reading abilities improved to do well in comprehension. Discussing the answers helps to aid understanding.

Writing Children should be encouraged to enjoy writing by planning their story and be succinct. Try our ideas below.

Handwriting Legible handwriting helps to make story writing easier and enables children to concentrate on imaginative ideas.

Places Child find learning easier if they have a visual picture. So using Google earth, going to the Thames Barrier and Hadrians wall will reinforce learning.

Topical ideas Guy Fawkes, Harvest and Diwali are all colourful and stimulating events worth reading about and enjoying.
