Parents in Touch

Dear [NAME]

I know you are enjoying the holiday but it will soon be time to think about school again!

We can make your life that bit easier.

Use some of the ideas below to help your lesson planning ready for September. Then relax for the rest of the holiday!

Also, we are giving away over £250 worth of prizes - so don't miss out on your chances.

Walter de la Mare is a favourite poet for all children so using some of his poetry at the start of term would be popular. The lesson plan on movement will be appreciated by those energetic and enthusiastic pupils.
Using the paper on 'One minute maths' will give you a good idea of the standard of knowledge of your new pupils. Try also the Maths quiz, and the Maths Fun time paper to assess pupils.
There are a variety of papers here which will help you familiarise yourself with your pupils. Try using 'Types of writing for KS3' and 'Sentence practice 2' to assess the knowledge of your class.
All children love 'Rhyming words' so this paper is popular. Children will enjoy 'Can you solve these puzzles'. Children at this stage enjoy colouring so 'Pictures on shape to colour' will help assess their dexterity.
Spelling and  Phonics
Phonics help with spelling so the 'Vowel sounds' paper will be useful. See if they can spell the words on 'Spelling of everyday things' The 'Try and find words paper' is fun to try.
'Try jumping' is a popular paper and will help assess pupils' knowledge. Children love working with magnets so they will enjoy and learn from this paper.
Take a look at our super Giveaways for this month. First up - a super selection of frozen meals from Miniscoff, and then a blackout blind perfect for holiday travel. We have LOGO What Am I? and LOGO TV and Movies games for family fun. Younger readers will enjoy Where's the Starfish and Come to School Too, Blue Kangaroo. For older ones, there's a set of books from Random House and Ripley's Absolutely Absurd. Get ready for school with pens from Maped and 200 Tricky Spellings in Cartoons. Finally, a chance to get a personalised book and help to protect bees at the same time.
