Teacher Newsletter January 2016

Parents in Touch

Dear [NAME]

We hope that you all had a good holiday and were able to spend time with your families. Everyone at Parents in Touch sends you all best wishes for a great year 2016. There are a varied selection of papers below which are sure to be useful and save you precious lesson planning time.

Teachers Roald Dahl is always a favourite story for pupils. Creating patterns and learning about odds and evens is fun and reinforces previous learning.
English It is always interesting to discover what pupils have understood about various animals around the world. KS3 pupils need to know how to write a persuasive article so work on this is helpful.
Maths Many children need extra help with numbers so working through these papers at the various levels will revise work already covered in class.
Foundation Stage Animals are always a popular subject for Foundation Stage children to work on. The papers below will increase their vocabulary and they will enjoy the topic work.
Spelling and Phonics Good spelling is essential. Phonics will help pupils correctly spell new words. Phonics also help children attempt more difficult words so that their writing is more interesting to read.
Science The biology quiz will reinforce learning. Pupils like watching birds and particular when they build nests. Younger pupils are fascinated by living things and how they live.
Take a look at our super Giveaways for this month. We have two excellent fiction books - The Secret Garden and Rules for a Knight. There's a superb Pirate Ship kit and finally, 101 Movies - for all the must-see films.

Books  For lots more ideas on reading and helping your child, take a look at our Best new books pages.
